Bethlehem Steel

Bethlehem Steel, or 'The Steel' as it was locally called was located in Bethlehem, PA along the Lehigh River; about 20 minutes from where I grew up. The complex closed in the late 1990s and early 2000s due to lack of modernization and its inability to compete with more modern steel mills. The site today is being repurposed into a retail/casino district.
